So many contradictions in my feelings over this war. If the pedofuhrer’s goal was truly to make room for an overthrow of the patriarchal government in Iran then why shut down the primary means of communication, Voice of America, months ago? All he’s doing is playing a game of Russian roulette with the lives of the Iranian people. It’s all so messed up. One thing it did accomplish is scrub any mention of the Epstein files completely off every single media outlet’s news cycle.

I’m still seeing lots of mentions: instead of Epic Fury they are calling it Epstein Files. But yes, it is all very complicated.

This is deeply complicated complex time in our history. Love What you post.

I loved Persepolis. But we know Metamucilini doesn’t give a 💩 about Iranian women. This is about oil and enriching his family. All the corrupt scum in the middle-east see the EV revolution coming at them and they are determined to increase production of oil and make as much money as they can. That’s what this is about.

You are probably correct, sadly.

I, too, pray that one day women will gain full sovereignty of their bodies and lives around the world. I enjoy your newsletter very much; however, I need to address a mistake here as well as point out a misguided statement. First of all Iranians are not exactly Arabs but predominantly Persian. Their culture and language are different and they should not be grouped as Arabs though their geography might lend itself to this eroneous assumption. "Arabs only respect strength" strikes me a blanket statement, lacking subtlety, with overtones of racism. Maybe it's time to open of a collection of poems by the greatly respected Mohammed Darwish, or peek into Edward Saïd's seminal work :Orientalism. The Arab world is multiple, complex, and unfortunately patriachy took its foothold not only in the Middle East (though our breed of it, yes) but all around our poor suffering globe. Currently one could look at the United States and say "Americans only respect strength". Would this be true? Thank you for your newsletter!

Thanks and I agree with your comments! I was quoting my friend about the Arabs, and truthfully he is a bit racist. Also, a man. 🙄 we have so much to learn about that area. Including that the term “Middle East” is a colonizer label.

Hello Maria,

I appreciate your response. Your newsletter gives me hope! On another note, my father was a faithful subscriber to Prevention so I grew up reading it, too. I am pleased to have found you.
