This hit home for me in so many ways. I am also entering the retirement phase, although I still am a creative person and have my art studio waiting for me whenever I wish to create in that space. But the freeing of my Self to the things about me is the most important.

Love this, Maria. I wish I could report that managing this perpetual process of rebirth you describe is getting easier. When we're young it's the striving and as we age it's the grasping. Striving and grasping. For me the hardest lesson continues to be that letting go isn't giving up.
