So beautiful and inspiring, thank you, Maria! I have been reflecting deeply on this theme recently, so it felt deeply resonant timing to receive your post this morning!
Maria: Whenever I encounter fear, I recall the quote from Frank Herbert's Dune: “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Live simply, so others may simply live.
“It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.”
-J. R. R. Tolkien

Today and tomorrow I will bring joy to the world by continually examing my inner darkness and bringing Light to it.
As the darkness is transformed to Light, the Light spreads to those I meet, to help them with their darkness.
